Volcon ePowerSports designs and builds the world’s most exciting outdoor vehicles including the new 2023 Stag, an all-electric easy to operate electric 4 wheeled off-road vehicle. Last year we showed the harness on the Grunt EV Motorbike with a smaller assembly. This year we are tackling a larger harness on the 2023 Stag which has over 43 connectors along with a fuse block with over 72 connection points. We will cover 2D schematics, documenting fuse blocks with wire jumpers that also have connections to the harness. Once the 2D schematic is complete, we'll then move to the 3D model and show some well-learned techniques for placing connectors, and how we handled ultrasonic splices. Next, we'll discuss Routing options, and then flatten the route. Performance enhancements in SOLIDWORKS 2024 makes working with the harness very manageable. We’ll then finish the flattened harness with a production ready drawing and discuss best practice documentation techniques.
