Anyone who has visited Cairo knows that traffic is a huge problem. It has been for decades as the infrastructure built for 1-2M residents has had to support ~25M. With this increase in population has come the obvious issues with traffic. As a result, the country has decided to build a brand new monorail system, and SOLIDWORKS customers - Elsewedy Electric - are a leading force in this project. We'll discuss the overall project goals with one of the lead designers/analysts on the project, Mohamed Hussein, and we'll see how he's utilized SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Simulation to meet some of the needs of the monorail project. We'll also show how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform tools could go even further in allowing for more advanced simulations to be evaluated, including using the world renowned Abaqus solver for implicit/explicit simulations.
