4. Admin | Create a Folder Structure Using Bookmark Editor

The Bookmark Editor helps you to organize and manage your CAD and non-CAD content. In this short video we explore how to create new bookmarks and a bookmark structure.

Bookmarks are effectively tags that are added to your data, however they can be displayed in a folder like structure, enabling you to manage your data in a familiar way. This helps users when transitioning from windows folders or similar.

How To

In this video you will learn how to create a new bookmark (folder), add additional bookmarks to create a structure, and assign SOLIDWORKS designs to a bookmark using the 3DEXPERIENCE panel in SOLIDWORKS

Create a Folder Structure Using Bookmark Editor

💪 Best Practices:

Bookmark Maturity: Setting the Bookmark Maturity will change how Bookmarks are visible to other users on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A 'Draft' Bookmark will only be visible to the creator of the Bookmark, where as an 'In Work' Bookmark is visible to anyone who has access to the Collaborative Space that they are created in.

In the Collaborative Space Control Center, you can change the default setting so that all new Bookmarks are created in the 'In Work' State.

Default Bookmarks: Setting a Default Bookmark in SOLIDWORKS ensures that all CAD data is saved to the default Bookmark if no Bookmark is chosen during save. This ensures that your CAD data is always accessible through browsing Bookmarks.
