Elastomeric (rubber-like) materials with their special properties are used for many products, e.g., seals/gaskets, bearings, dampers, buffers, insulation, etc.
Simulations with such materials can be quite challenging. The high elasticity requires a special formulation of the material, often combined with the calibration of test data. Additionally there are large deformations and strains and contact between different parts, which leads to highly nonlinear simulations.
This presentation provides a brief overview about simulation capabilities within SOLIDWORKS in this domain.
Afterward, the extensive options of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with the sophisticated Abaqus equation solvers are presented.
This includes topics like material calibration, multi-step analysis, choosing a solver, special element and contact settings, and more.
