1365 - Innovative Medical Device With 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation and Collaboration

Life sciences R&D pipelines are now dominated by novel biologic therapeutics, and their delivery to patients is complicated as they can be viscous or delivered in large volumes.

Hence wearable large-volume injectors are bound to play a key role in the future success of these new therapeutics to shift the point of care from hospitals and clinics to the patient home.

Through this presentation, we demonstrate how designers and engineers can collaboratively use modeling and simulation to improve medical device reliability and safety, reduce the need for costly physical testing, enhance the patient experience, and improve treatment outcomes. Beginning with the 3D design in SOLIDWORKS, we show how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform can be used as a collaborative framework to implement, integrate, and standardize simulation-driven design workflows. The purpose of this demonstration is to connect the design in SOLIDWORKS to the simulation capabilities on the platform in a seamless workflow.
