I demonstrate how a powerful macro that can save users a considerable amount of time can be written relatively quickly in the VB macro editor. Starting from scratch, I will create a new macro file, outline the contents of the macro using comments, then demonstrate how to use the SOLIDWORKS API help to find the appropriate API calls needed to create the macro. Basic familiarity with programming concepts (variables, if-then statements, etc) is necessary to follow this presentation.
