The Large Design Review mode for assemblies and the Detailing mode for drawings revolutionize the way SOLIDWORKS users work with massive projects. Massive performance benefits gained as the result of using these modes, come with the cost of certain features being unavailable. Despite the fact that each new release of SOLIDWORKS adds more and more enhancements related to working with Large Assemblies and Drawings, some critical tools are still missing. Fortunately, SOLIDWORKS also has a robust API, which can fill these gaps with ease.
This session is intended to demonstrate proof of concepts and working solutions to stretch the feature set of Large Design, and the Drawing Detailing modes and operational performance. This includes, but is not limited to, the ability to edit custom and cut-list properties from the Large Design Review, replacing the hardware items with metadata, model geometry simplification, rebuild operation suspension, and batch printing drawings in Detailing mode and more.
