Hardware is one of the keys to increasing performance in your day-to-day use of SOLIDWORKS. Many new hardware options have hit the market over the last year, and we will share what 60,000+ benchmark runs have taught us about how hardware works with SOLIDWORKS. Bryan continues to run these test machines around the clock, testing various configurations of processors, hard drives, and video cards using various system option settings to maximize SOLIDWORKS performance. Each tweak made to our environment will be run through our benchmark process and results will be recorded to help determine the performance impact of the change. All data collected is analyzed using several tools to help find trends and patterns that will help our customers really understand how the various aspects of our system behave. The goal is to understand what changes have the largest impact on performance, and what pieces of hardware merit focus when specifying a new machine.
