I work in industry where outside of a purchased items everything we manufacture is built from sheet metal and structural steel. With customer driven specs and site layouts causing changes to our “standard” equipment, the use of configurations is widely used. We will discuss the perks of configurations as well as some of the downfalls to look out for when you are deciding if you should create a component/assembly as a configuration. We’ll also discuss how using configurations can aid downstream applications for manufacturing.
