This Best Practice document demonstrates the use of advanced Abaqus features authored by a Mechanical Analyst using the External Solve feature of the Physics Simulation app. The Physics Simulation is exported as an Abaqus Input file and is updated interactively with additional Abaqus keywords using a simulation process authored in the simulation templates in the Process Composer app. The updated Abaqus Input file is executed using the Compute Orchestration Service. The results are imported back into the 3DEXPERIENCE Physics Results app for postprocessing.
Note: This Best Practice document is updated and valid for 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x GA level. From 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x FD01 level onwards, users can refer to the Keyword Editor feature.
Prerequisites and recommendations: The user referring to this document must be an expert in using the SIMULIA Mechanical Scenario Creation app and who has a knowledge of Abaqus Input files and the keywords used in it. The user should also know how to use the SIMULIA Process Composer app.
Target audience: Design Engineers, Mechanical Analysts, CFD Analysts, Methods Developers, and so on.
In this Best Practice, you will learn about:
- The use of advanced Abaqus features on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform by adding external keywords to the Input file
- The use of the External Solve feature of the Physics Simulation app
- The use of the Simulation Template to capture the best practices of a simulation process
- Import of the Simulation Results on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
