For 3D Creator and 3D Sculptor, the design apps (xDesign and xShape) run in a web browser and do not require download or installation.

For 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Professional, the design app (SOLIDWORKS Connected) requires download and installation. Hardware and software requirements include a professional workstation-grade graphics card and Windows® 10 or Windows 11 64-bit operating system. The same applies to NC Shop Floor Programmer.

You can use the design apps included in 3D Creator and 3D Sculptor (xDesign and xShape) in a browser on a Mac or an iOS device.

For 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Professional, the design app (SOLIDWORKS Connected) cannot be installed on a Mac. It requires a Windows machine to install. The 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Professional role and SOLIDWORKS Connected app will be missing from your compass if you log into the Platform from a Mac. The same applies to the NC Shop Floor Programmer role and Shop Floor Machining app.

How is 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers different from its commercial equivalent?

Models that you create using 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers cannot be opened in commercial versions of 3DEXPERIENCE Works software, including commercial versions of SOLIDWORKS software. You can share your models with other users of 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers.
