Clean Installation of SOLIDWORKS Connected for Makers

If you encounter an error like the one below, then you might wonder what to do next, and why the error occurs.  

 

 

This error indicates that there is old or incomplete installation data inside your chosen installation folder. You may be advised to reinstall SOLIDWORKS Connected for Makers to troubleshoot such issues.
 

Perform a Clean Installation

Note: If you are working offline, start SOLIDWORKS® Connected for Makers, reconnect to your 3DEXPERIENCE platform, then close SOLIDWORKS Connected for Makers.

Uninstall SOLIDWORKS Connected for Makers and its Prerequisites

1. Right click the Start menu and choose Apps and Features (Windows 10) or Installed apps (Windows 11).

2. Uninstall the following:

  • 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher
  • CEF for SOLIDWORKS Applications
  • Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R202Xx
  • Dassault Systemes Software VC10 Prerequisites x86-x64
  • Dassault Systemes Software VC11 Prerequisites x86-x64
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2019
  • WPTx64


Delete Remaining Installation Data​​​​​​​

NOTE: The ProgramData folders may contain important user data like document templates, databases, and design library files, so be sure to create a backup of those folders before deletion.

4. %appdata%\\DassaultSystemes 

5. %programdata%\\DassaultSystemes\\3DEXPERIENCELauncher

6. %programdata%\\SOLIDWORKS

7. %public%\\Documents\\SOLIDWORKS


Reinstall SOLIDWORKS Connected for Makers and its Prerequisites

8. Open a web browser and go to https://www.solidworks.com/maker-cloud

9. Log in with your 3DEXPERIENCE ID.

10. Open the Compass

11. Click the SOLIDWORKS Connected app.

12. Follow the instructions to download and install the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher.

13. Continue and click Install All Roles Containing SOLIDWORKS Connected.

14. Step through the installer, selecting your installation locations.
