Project Planner (XPP-OC) - R2026x FD04

New enhancements in this release:

App What's New

Project Planning

  • Options When Creating a Project From a Template or Another Project

When you create a project from a template or from an existing project, there are check boxes to include copying additional items.

Benefits: Previously, when copying the full plan structure (tasks, milestones, gates, checklists), assignments, memberships (not using User Profiles), external constraints, and statuses were not carried over. Now there are options to select these items to copy over.

  • Options for Adding Attachments and Deliverables from 3DSpace Involving Bookmarks

When you add a 3DSpace object as an attachment or deliverable to a plan object that has a bookmark, the 3DSpace object is automatically added to the bookmark.

Benefits: Project Managers no longer need to manually add deliverables and attachments to a 3DSpace bookmark. The connection between the plan object and the bookmark tracks and organizes the objects in a single 3DSpace collection.

  • Option to Require Deliverables on Checklist Items

An option allows a Project Leader to require an attached deliverable for checklist items on tasks, milestones, gates, and projects.

Benefits: This feature ensures that a checklist item that requires a deliverable has one attached.

  • Option to Determine Task Completion by Completion of Mandatory Checklist Items

An option allows you to automatically determine the percent complete of a task based on the percent complete of deliverables on its checklist items.

Benefits: You can optionally base a task's completion percentage on the completion percentage of its mandatory checklist items. Or you can continue to manually enter the task's completion percent.

  • Effort as a Factor in Scheduling Assignees

Time and resource scheduling takes into account work effort by assigning a percent allocation to persons working on tasks.

Benefits: Task assignments no longer treat each assignee as 100% occupied for the full duration of the task. There was no indication that a task, even lasting days or weeks, might require only a fraction of a person's time.

  • Effort Overlap Allowed Within Same Time Period

The scheduler allows a person to work on two or more tasks within the same time period, when their capacity does not exceed 100%.

Benefits: Previously, any effort overlap in the same time period was treated as a conflict.
