Why
Eased decision making by visualizing the real world assets (point cloud data) imported and validated in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform from anywhere and using any device.

Who:

This role targets the following types of users:

Survey Engineers, Real Data Managers, Capture Specialists

Responsible to collect, process, validate, and maintain the real world assets (point cloud data)

• Define the Real World Location that represents the entire premise (Example: Factory) and add several Location Surveys that represents different segments of it (Example: Painting Department, CNC Department).
• For each Location Surveys, easily import the real world assets (point cloud data) from anywhere and using any device.
• Perform computation to generate a 3D Representation / Model in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform from the Location Observation files (point cloud data)
• Open and review the Location States in the 3D Navigator to take decision on approval.
• Collaboratively manage the Real World Location definition with your team at any time and on any device.

The Process:

• The point cloud data is imported to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
• It is then processed and converted into 3D model that can then be viewed in the app 3D Navigator

Note: The assets (For example: Factory) are scanned using the scanning equipment. The output of these scans is “Point cloud data". This role supports 15 formats of point cloud data.

Terms:

• Assets: Are physical assets such as factories, construction sites, floors…
• Location Survey: Container of One or more Observation Files
• Real World Location: Container of multiple Location Survey
• Location Observations: Point cloud data files
• Location State: the 3D Representation/Model generated from Location Observation files
