3DEXPERIENCE platform

A platform that enables stakeholders to navigate their entire business, collaborate more easily and extract intelligence from big data. It provides a clear and unified access to key services and apps. The services available in the user interface depend on your working context.

3DEXPERIENCE ID

To access the 3DEXPERIENCE platform you need an account called 3DEXPERIENCE ID . When you receive an email invitation to register on the platform, the link redirects you to the 3DPassport login or the registration page. If you already have a 3DEXPERIENCE ID , you can directly log in. If you do not, you can click Create a new account to create your 3DEXPERIENCE ID , choose a username and password, and provide basic personal information (first name, last name and country).

The 3DCompass

A service, which provides the Compass and the administration tools (for example, Members Control Center, Legal Configuration Center) that manage users' invitations, roles and rights, and general platform customization.

The 3DDashboard

A service which allows you to create, visualize, manage and share dashboards.

Roles

1) A group of brand apps that cover the activities linked to a trade specialization. Roles are orderable and priced, and are granted to users according to their needs by the platform administrator. Examples of roles include: Creative Designer, Project Manager, Stress Engineer, Process Planner, and so forth.

2) In a user feature context, the external name assigned to an input or a published parameter. The default role of an input is the name of the feature. The default role of a parameter is its default name. The user can assign a more meaningful name as the role. For example, the parameter role Radius to The Radius of the Top Circle is more explicit than the default role Radius.

Apps

App

A general term for an application. An app is a set of tools for completing specific tasks.

Dashboard app

An app accessible from a 3DCompass Quadrant that you can drag to a dashboard. Dashboard apps can be pinned as widgets to a dashboard tab. Some dashboard apps open more than a single widget. For example, Product Structure Editor opens a pair of widgets. See also dashboard.

Native app

An app that is loaded onto a device (computer, tablet, mobile phone). These client apps require the installation of a media locally, for both On Premise and On Cloud contexts. For On Cloud contexts, you can also install them through the 3DCompass. The term native app replaces what was formerly referred to as: rich app, rich client, desktop app, win (or Windows) app, and wintop.

It also applies to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform 3DDrive service, when used as a Windows native app, to replicate 3DDrive directories on a Windows desktop.

3DDrive

A service that lets you securely store, access, and share files online from any device and any computer.It is available as a dashboard app in the Y quadrant and as a Windows native app (to replicate 3DDrive directories on a Windows desktop and manage them as any other Windows directories). It provides the following capabilities:

• Combine your external cloud storage for use with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform .
• Organize and find your files.
• Share and collaborate with customers, contractors, and coworkers.
• Synchronize content with your computer and work offline.

3DNotification

A service that manages the notifications sent to users when someone interacts with their content, shares data with them or changes their rights. According to the user's settings, the 3DNotification Center, in the upper right corner of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform window, displays notifications as transient alerts.

3DPassport

The identity provider of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform . This service allows you to authenticate and manage your profile. It also provides Single Sign On (SSO) features to access 3DEXPERIENCE platform services. You cannot replace the 3DPassport by an enterprise SSO but you can integrate with it by delegating authentication, using the SAML2 protocol.

3DSearch

The front-end search service of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform . You can use it to search for items on 3DSwym, 3DDrive, 3DSpace (if you have access to Collaborative Spaces), and 3DDashboard on the cloud.

3DSwym

A service, available as a web app and as dashboard apps on the Social and Collaborative 3DCompass quadrant of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform . It provides social networking and community facilities, enabling cross-discipline collaboration of users anywhere in the enterprise.

6WTags

3DEXPERIENCE platform elements which allow users to organize and filter content. Tags are either extracted from the search results content automatically or user-defined. When you launch a query from the top search bar, they display by default in a panel on the left of the search results list. Tags are categorized in six groups:

• Who
• What
• Where
• When
• Why
• How

3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace

An online e-commerce environment in which third-party solution providers offer their services and content, and where Dassault Systèmes manages the transactions. As of now, the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace includes the Make and Part Supply services.
