Please follow the steps below to perform a clean reinstallation of the DraftSight software. 
It is advisable to Deactivate your DraftSight license from the DraftSight help menu before following these steps. 

The following steps should only be performed by a suitably qualified person to avoid causing problems on the PC. 

1.Login to Windows using an account that has Administrator rights.

2.Open the Windows ‘Control Panel’ App. To do this, type ‘Control Panel’ in the Search field in the Windows Task Bar. 

3.Select Control Panel > Programs and Features 

4.From the list of programs, select DraftSight and the click ‘Uninstall’ and follow the on-screen instructions to remove the software.

5.When the DraftSight uninstallation is complete, open a File Explorer window and browse to this location: C:\\Users\\[username]\\AppData\\Roaming. If the AppData folder is not visible, it can be shown using the folder options in the File Explorer options :  View > Hidden Items

6.Locate the folder called ‘DraftSight’. Select it with the mouse and then click the right mouse button and select ‘Rename’. Type a new folder name : "DraftSight_old"

7.In Windows File Explorer, navigate to the installation directory (generally in C:\\Program Files\\Dassault Systemes.) Rename the folder called ‘DraftSight’ to ‘DraftSight_old’.

8.In Windows File Explorer, navigate to C:\\ProgramData\\Dassault Systemes and rename the folder called ‘DraftSight’ to ‘DraftSight_old’. If the ProgramData folder is not visible, it can be shown using the folder options in the File Explorer options :  View > Hidden Items. Or type C:\\ProgramData in the File Explorer address bar and press enter to access this folder.

9.Open the Windows registry editor. Click the Search tool on the Windows Task bar and type: “Regedit” and press enter. NOTE: Changes to the registry editor must only be conducted by a suitably qualified person as any mistakes can seriously damage the PC. Dassault Systems do not support people doing this.

10.Locate the following registry key:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Dassault Systemes > DraftSight.

11.Right mouse click on it and select ‘Rename’. Rename it to : “DraftSight_old”.

12.Download current version of DraftSight from : https://www.3ds.com/products-services/draftsight-cad-software/download-draftsight/?wockw=Draftsight.

13.When the download completes, double click on the file and follow the instructions to complete the installation.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
