Having to switch between apps multiple times can become tedious. By using a Accelerate command/shortcut switching becomes quick and effortless. 

This wiki explains how to set up a shortcut. 

Without shortcut: 

Users have to open the compass, select the the app after which it takes a moment for the app to load. 

With shortcut:

Setup: 

1. Create a new shortcut or command in Favorite.
2. Add the action to open or switch to your desired app.
3. Assign a keyboard shortcut.
4. Save it and test the command.
5. Add additional apps if you want quick switching between multiple apps.

Once configured, you can jump from one app to another without going through the usual menus.
