When stepping through the machine simulation using the arrow keys it can happen that the magnification is triggered by accident. (see video) 

In order to avoid this deativate the following options: 

Common Preferences => 2D 3D View Display => Selection => Display immersive list for preselection navigator & Display immersive viewer for preselection navigator

Once these are deactivated the magnification should not appear again when stepping through the simulation.
