A design in xGenerative Design for a folded and perforated metal façade to augment a typical commercial parking structure.
A general overview of the steps include:
- Creating a series of vertical planes with a sequence of offset values.
- Intersect the planes with the pleated sub-divisional surface created in xShape.
- Extrude intersection curves to create folded surfaces.
- Add a grid of points on each surface based on the UV directions.
- Create spheres on each point that randomly vary in size to give a non-uniform overall appearance to the facade.
- Split the spheres with the folded surfaces create the final perforated panels.
