Context:

Usage of 3DEXP "Library" instead of CATIA catalog

Since CATIA V5 standard CATIA component are historicaly organized trough Catalog object. in 3DEXperience, since 2024x-25x the Library object is mature enough to replace the Catalog object

Nevertheless the 2 ways of organising your piping components are maintain. so you can organize them in 

• CATIA catalog (same as in CATIA V5)
• in 3DExp Library

When defining you part filters inside your Piping specifications, you will select from which source you want to retreive the part

Note:

Library is the long term strategic 3DS solution for customer

Catalog is more flexible for sharing complete piping data setup cross servers (through 3DXML)

Scenario for Piping 3D

Setup Predicate and Library class attributes

Populate library with Component family resolved parts

Create piping Master Library from Library template

Duplicate CATIA Piping specification to create a new Spec that will use 3D Piping Part in Libraries 

Create Piping Material Specification Library and  use it in CATIA Piping Specification Part filters
