Introduction
You can specify on the Logical object which Part number must be used/installed in 3D to realize the component. this attribut is called Predefined Part Number.
This information will be used during the 2D to 3D process to assist the 3D designer according the choise/requierements done by the System engineer

For the schematic Piping Part object, the selection of this PartNumber is driven by the Piping Specification (which is common to schematic and 3D design app). in this case system will propose discrete list of possible Part Numbers
To make it working , the piping specification must contain
- a table which define the mapping between the values of 2D piping component Part Subtype (Logical PartSubtype) attribute and 3D Piping Part Subtype (Physical PartSubtype) attribute.
- Part filters that define the list of 3D Part that are applicable in the context of this Piping material specification.
- this request to have the 3D Piping Part library done into the 3DEXP database

Now with the introduction of Equipment specification, the mecanism is similar to the one explain above for piping
The only difference is that we will have a unique equipment material specification whereas for piping line we can have different one depending on the LineIDs
