P&ID - Manage Session

Partial loading

Open P&ID sheet without loading components

When working with very large Data with lot of diagram sheets in the same P&ID (logical Reference), it could be needed to be able to load only one sheet with the obejct that are inside this P&ID. here is the process to do it

Note : general remark  : it is recommended to not work with lot's of sheet in the same P&ID. it is recommended to split in multiple P&ID (Log reference) with few sheet. this will

  • improve the overall performances of the system
  • facilitate user navigation (less object in tree)
  • facilitate concurent engineering and lifecycle management

Enrich schematic session with element not yet loaded

When working in Schematic it can happens that all the components that are represented into your Schema are not loaded, because of different reason

  • user has open just the Schematic Sheet object
  • user has open the full Schematic data for a system (Logical Reference that contain the sheet objects  and the component objects) but some of the components that are represented in the schema are part of another system / schema so they have not been loaded in session

in these case, it can happens that the user want to load the System/schema tha tcontain the component object that is represented into his schema. to do that a dedicated command is available (this command is LA (limited availability) in 23x-24x-25x which means that is usage is under Dassault systemes R&D control.

Open P&ID from 3DMarkup widget

When working with 3DMarkup on a 3D part or Product, you can directly drag & drop the the Part/product object from 3DMarkup widget (web App) to 3DEXPerience CATIA Native Client to edit it

But for P&Id it is a little different. on P&ID or other Schematic document done with CATIA, the object which is used by 3DMarkup is a "Sheet" and not a Logical reference. Because you cannot open a P&ID "Sheet" objects individually in the Native Client to edit it, you must retreive  it parent Logical reference to be able to drag&drop it in the 3DEXPErience Native Client to edit it.

here is a video that shows the process:

Open session in context of working in ITEM mode

When working in ITEM mode, system will create links between 2D Schematic Object of the Diagram breakdown structure (DBS) and "Item" from the System Breakdown structure (SBS)

to ensure that all the information are accessible by the app, you must open in the same session the 2 Product structures that contain the system definition on which you are working on

here is a video to illustrate how to prepare this session
