When working with HVAC, you can work in 2 different mode: using 

• full parametric parts (one unique part per type of part which is used as template to generate a new part at each usage)
• standard size parts (one part per standard catalog part, that will be used/place into the model) 

you can mix the 2 for exemple having 

• all circular duct line  using Standard part (multi instanciation)
• all rectangle duct line using non standard part (each part is a new reference part that will adjust according neighbor
