Weight and Balance Analyst is a pack of roles to help designers and managers access Key Performance Indicator (KPI) values of weight, center of gravity, and inertia matrix for parts and products designed on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
This pack enables the user to define weight target, monitor KPI values and follow-up trend of the product maturity. Managers and engineers can assess the weight definitions and the center of gravity, considering variants of a product, to meet efficiency and sustainability requirements. The fully integrated applications on both Windows and web enable the user to interact with KPI values associated with 3D geometries, eliminating conventional Excel-based calculations and file management. In a tightly secured environment, the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform enables the engineer and the manager to perform an efficient review and assessment of product status based on weight definitions and the center of mass distributions.

This web application gives an assessment of predefined KPIs and their trends for a specific part or a product. Responsive interface makes it possible to perform weight and balance analysis on any devices ranging from tablets to full desktop machines.
The new Inertia Matrix solver computes the inertia matrix of an assembly using the optimized calculation algorithm. The user can quickly assess and analyze moments of inertia of huge assemblies stored in the database without even opening the entire structure of the assembly.

This desktop application offers a full analysis of KPIs necessary for product development. The application enables weight managers, engineers and compliance managers to observe weight requirement, keep track of weight values, balance the center of gravity, and analyze the inertia matrix for any node of the product structure.
Center of Gravity Tolerance
In order to show the tolerance of the center of gravity (CoG), two default values are now available in the “Weight Management” tab of the Preferences.Weight Distribution Curve
