Easily explore and experiment aerodynamic behavior of aircrafts to assess propulsion systems performances considering effects of the flight mission
The Aviation Systems Library is a Modelica-based simulation library to model aerodynamic behaviour of aircrafts or drones. This library is based on MSL MultiBody for compatibility. It includes replaceable models for the propulsion system for energy analysis.
This library focuses on two aspects of aviation
Fixed-wing aircrafts
Rotating-wing aircrafts like drones
Benefits
Define aerodynamic behavior of aircrafts like airplanes or multi-copters using Modelica language
Easily connect with others Modelica libraries like Electrified Powertrain or Hydrogen and Battery Libraries
Define drone mission planning for energy consumption assessment and Flight path optimization
Highlights
Modeling the aerodynamic behavior of aircrafts and drones
Uses MSL interfaces (Multi-Body and rotational flanges)
Aerodynamic forces of wings or propellers are calculated by coefficients read from SDF tables
Measurements or CFD-calculations
Landing gear models allow mission profiles
starting and ending on ground
