Increase Drawing productivity by delivering extended drafting capabilities and automatic batch generation of Piping and HVAC orthogonal and Isometric drawings
Enable Engineering department to generate right the first time, massive number of drawings for production, in respect of company and industry rules and standards
Customer's expectations
For most customers in Heavy industries (E&M, M&O) and Construction industry (CC&T), drawing remain the official document to certify engineering quality and to exchange with other parties.
We can mention at least 2 main customer concerns regarding drawing production :
First the information extracted into the drawing must follow Company and Industry rules & standard by respecting dedicated view and annotation representation and layout.
Second, Customer should be able to generate lot of drawing in a very limited timeframe and drawing should be right the first time without (or with very limited) manual rework.
Customer's Business Challenges
In this context, Company working in Shipbuilding, Plant design and Construction need to follow tight Product development phase that follows predefined milestones where all data must be released and the corresponding drawings must be generated quickly.
The drawing generated at each phases must respect contractual rules and must show the necessary level of detail information expected for the corresponding milestone.
Many design modification can occur all along the process and even very late. Customer should be able to detect quickly all the impacted deliverables and regenerate them accordingly in a limited timeframe
Licensing
It is based on a name user license that give access to all Drafting interactive function and the capability to run full automated batches. Each time a batch is run , when the model is saved , the system consumes credits according the number of generated views.
For Piping isometrics and orthogonal drawing the system is consuming 1 credit per drawing (independent of the views).
The role is embedding 800 credits allowing 800 views creation in batch . This as been done to address small usage, and/or to allow performing the test necessary during setup phase.
In addition of this role , customer can buy additional credit pack called Multidiscipline Drafter Credit Pack (ACP) which will provide another 4000 credits.
The 800 credits will be supplied every year included in the recurrent license charge, and have a validity of 1 year.
The Multidiscipline Drafter Credit Pack (ACP) package also has a validity of 1 year.
For more (legal) information please consult the official licencing documents
Benefits
CATIA Multidiscipline Automated Drafter role has been developed to answer to this challenge, it address pure drafter and 3D design specialist that need to generate time to time some drawing
It provides extend drafting capabilities with functions to address Heavy industries and Civil engineering. Increase Drawing productivity thanks to automatic batch generation
The role is a stand alone role that contains standard CATIA Drawing application allowing interactive and generative extraction of drawing.
In addition, user will have access to Multidiscipline automated Drafter App which provides:
1. Standardize drawing generation for all users according project to fit to Industry standard
2. Increase drawing generation user productivity
3. Increase drawing quality
4. Provide set of OOTB functionalities that fit to heavy industry practices
5. Generate orthogonal and piping Isometric drawing link to 3D without neutral format exchange
Highlights
CATIA Multidiscipline Automated Drafter role provides:
Parametric annotations dedicated to Heavy industry with smart positioning
Multi view generation and update based on template and rules
Color filling functionalities
Dedicated Bill of Material and template reports
User will also be able to run batches to generate the piping Isometric and Piping & HVAC Orthogonal drawing
The batches scope will be enrich in the coming releases to address also structure drawing and later any other disciplines
The Industry processes are mainly focus around fluid system but it will be extend in the coming release to structure and others.
