Description
We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Workbook 2021 which includes the following enhancements and fixed defects:
Enhancements
NBK-12982 - Instances of Experiment Autoname sequences skipping numbers have been greatly reduced.
NBK-32087 - The Vault Superinstaller now properly configures IIS with the designated security certificate.
NBK-27698 - The Vault Admin Guide now describes how to use the Vault Configuration Tool.
NBK-30641 - When a Workbook session expires, the login window is no longer pinned as the top-most layer, blocking usage of other application.
NBK-30745 - All templates provided with Workbook now have forced check-in enabled by default.
NBK-31124 - The CISPro resolver is no longer limited to the container level when importing fields into Workbook.
NBK-31186 - The Timestamp button in the Text Section now reflects regional time/date formatting
NBK-31189 - The full username is now displayed in Notebook Explorer and the Work In-Progress Homepage widget.
NBK-31236 - User name is now displayed instead of User Code in the Import from Experiment dialog.
NBK-31306 - TLS 1.2 is now the default setting for Workbook.
NBK-31396 - Scientists can now search on content that is in the title of file attachments.
NBK-31697 - All Vault Services now use the Oracle Managed Driver
NBK-31753 - Workbook deployment enables new CISPro resolver by default.
NBK-31787 - Audit History report no longer causes Oracle to stall when attempting to filter on Description "includes".
NBK-31906 - Administrators can now configure the system to automatically save recent changes before a document is closed, saved, or checked-in.
NBK-31942 - Workbook no longer hangs when attempting to open experiments with large numbers of Preparation and/or Preparation component rows.
NBK-31969 - Workbook will always use stand-alone Draw if it is installed; it takes precedence over embedded Draw.
NBK-31980 - Administrators can now run a script to identify all active users in a specified time period.
NBK-32114 - Workbook no longer allows the Windows 10 Storage Sense feature to delete content from the temp folder created by our Text Section.
Fixed Defects
NBK-31232 - A user that does not have Read Data permission on an Experiment can no longer access the Experiment Audit History via the SDK.
NBK-31233 - A user that does not have Read Data permission on an Experiment can no longer access the Experiment Audit History via the context menu button via the Workbook API.
NBK-31484 - SQL statements directly hard-coded in a SOAP request no longer bypass security measures.
NBK-31647 - Text sections are now always populated as expected.
NBK-31658 - Expiration Dates are correctly imported from CISPro regardless of Workbook client time zone.
NBK-31661 - The reaction scheme now always displays reactant and product labels when transferring a reaction to Workbook.
NBK-31678 - Trailing zeroes (significant figures) are no longer removed from text boxes with DataType of real in Workbook forms.
NBK-31727 - Errors are no longer encountered when getting the history of a document using 'Vault.EventWorkspace' object in code
NBK-31858 - Text Box type Date in forms now works with regional formatting.
NBK-32071 - The timestamp no longer displays incorrectly in the document Audit history when the GMT offset is currently different from when the record was created.
NBK-26978 - The DATA_DEFAULT column of the SITE.AUDITHISTORY table is no longer cleared by some deployment scenarios.
NBK-29816 - When a signature is required on a dropdown Combobox and the Combobox value is changed using the mouse wheel, the signature policy is now invoked.
NBK-29827 - Errors are no longer displayed when generating a report for an experiment containing a Task Plan section.
NBK-29944 - The Workbook Client installer no longer corrupts the current version registry setting of BIOVIA Draw.
NBK-30043 - Editing a Properties Search no longer causes Workbook to crash.
NBK-30128 - Memory usage issues related to Japanese language setting on Microsoft Office have been resolved.
NBK-30465 - Documents with form fields containing greater than 4000 characters can now be opened.
NBK-30505 - Exporting Access History no longer fails when large number of records are selected.
NBK-30880 - Automated Type Measurements no longer behave differently at Preparation and Material Level.
NBK-30999 - The Signature History Report Builder now completes in a reasonable timeframe.
NBK-31008 - Symyx Workflow Utility now returns an error only if there is a failure.
NBK-31026 - EnableConnectionLossHandling is now set to false for Vault.
NBK-31290 - When launching Pipeline Protocols from Workbook buttons, re-authentication is no longer required.
NBK-31449 - Partial check-out no longer occurs if Experiments are opened quickly after transitioning.
NBK-31638 - Generating an Experiment report containing a form with multiple text boxes no longer results in vertically overlapping text boxes.
NBK-31667 - Check Boxes and Labels no longer show their content outside of their container.
NBK-31673 - Copying and pasting a structure from Chemdraw 18 (outside the workbook) into the Material section now works.
NBK-31674 - Indexing has been improved so that experiments are consistently returned from content searches and peptide exact and sub-structure searches. Additionally if one section in a document causes indexing errors, other sections still get indexed and the vault messaging service does not hang.
NBK-31675 - Caching of permissions no longer leads to high memory usage.
NBK-31679 - Leading zeroes are no longer removed from text boxes with Data Type real in Workbook forms.
NBK-31680 - Decimal points in text boxes with Data Type real are more consistently handled.
NBK-31681 - Workflow Exceptions are no longer encountered when checking in an experiment.
NBK-31684 - Text boxes of Data Type real now handle regional date settings as expected.
NBK-31689 - When Windows offline profiles are used, end-users can still create PDFs of Workbook Experiments.
NBK-31686 - New single-sign-on implementation of the Analyze tab now triggers a token refresh of the current token is expired.
NBK-31802 - The system can now be configured to disable the “Save As” dialog when closing an experiment, so that changes to an experiment cannot be discarded.
NBK-31808 - Temp files can no longer be deleted while still in use by BIOVIA Workbook.
NBK-31864 - Launching a Pipeline Pilot protocol through the Workbook Analyze tab no longer causes errors.
NBK-31867 - Experiments containing a Reaction List section no longer result in excessively long reports.
NBK-31882 - Comboboxes are now readable when switching between section and continuous layout.
NBK-31884 - Peptide searches are now working as expected with WB and Draw 32 bit Standalone Installation.
NBK-31910 - Combobox selections can now be updated when more than one experiment is open.
NBK-31967 - Material quicktext links now update even if they are located after the second date/time field entry in a text section.
NBK-32093 - Workbook experiments now open as expected after applying MS patches (KB4566516, KB4565632, KB4565625) on Windows 10 machine.
NBK-32121 - Chinese and Japanese characters are now rendered correctly in the file section preview.
NBK-32331 - Task Plan section now behaves as expected after results are updated from Capture recipe.
NBK-30619 - Vault Document Workflow no longer crashes intermittently.
NBK-31007 - Vault Workflow signature box no longer incompletely displays field to select meanings with Japanese language settings.
NBK-31088 - Form Textboxes with date types of real, date or integer no longer cause superfluous Audit History entries.
NBK-31091 - Scripted changes to form textboxes no longer result in superfluous Audit History entries.
NBK-31319 - The Vault Server Installation Guide no longer provides unnecessary, outdated instructions for enabling Windows Server roles and features. The installation wizard handles enablement of the required features.
NBK-31475 - The Timestamp button in the Text Section now reflects regional time/date formatting.
NBK-31488 - The configuration exposed by the Web server intg-server.intg.local on the port 443 has been updated to reflect Best Security Practices
NBK-31490 - Workbook documentation has been corrected to state that the Vault Workflow Service must be started before Vault Message Processing Service.
NBK-31599 - Errors are no longer displayed when accessing the Experiment History using the API.
NBK-31677 - Properties search using "OR" on the same field now works as expected.
NBK-31683 - Material Quicktext now updates when the Material Name or Amount is changed in the Materials table.
NBK-31866 - Mapping error dialog now only appears once when using the CISPro Material resolver.
NBK-31859 - When a user attempts to open an Experiment to which he/she has only ReadProperties permission a clear, understandable message is displayed.
NBK-31868 - Dropdown fields in spreadsheets can no longer be edited if the spreadsheet is locked.
NBK-31901 - The serialization of the VaultObject.PendingContentHistory contains empty entries
