Description
We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Workbook 2021 SP1 which includes the following enhancements and fixed defects:
Enhancements
NBK-30444 - Workbook 2021 is now compatible with ChemDraw 19 and 20, as well as 17 and 18. ChemDraw 14, 15, and 16 are no longer supported.
NBK-32368 - Workbook installations will now include the latest version of Portable BIOVIA Draw.
NBK-32498 - Only modified sections of an experiment are now saved to the database on check-in to increase performance, reduce memory usage and reduce storage requirements.
NBK-32863 - The Foundation Collaborative space that that user is logged into can now be changed from within Workbook.
NBK-30021 - Workbook can now be configured to generate Hub Samples directly, using the Hub Sample numbering schema.
NBK-31827 - Font color selection is now available directly in the text section toolbar.
NBK-32101 - Full-text indexing has been refactored to use less resources and improve performance.
NBK-32336 - Audit History no longer shows an "undo check-out" entry when a document is checked-in without changes being made.
NBK-32414 - The Task Plan creation dialog is now displayed when a Scientist first clicks on the Workbook Task Plan section.
NBK-32454 - The file section has been refactored to optimize stability, memory usage and performance.
NBK-32457 - A more granular Application Permission exists now to distinguish between administrators who can create templates, section templates, forms and property sets and those who can also add/edit python scripts and Pipeline Pilot protocols to those objects.
NBK-32744 - The Product Selection Dialog in the Parallel Chemistry template now allows the user to enumerate all discrete reactants with one click.
NBK-32829 - Scientists can now add additional properties to the add component dialog in the Preparation and Formulation sections.
NBK-32862 - Every Workbook Experiment can now be associated to one Foundation Collaborative Space.
NBK-32869 - Scientists can now access sub-folders in the Import from Experiment dialog.
NBK-32873 - When using the Create Foundation Hub Sample functionality, the system associates the experiment with a Foundation Hub Collaborative Space, and associates all samples created from that experiment with the same collaborative space.
NBK-32977 - The User ID is now shown in addition to the Full User Name in Search Results.
NBK-33216 - Users are no longer prompted to reauthenticate when running Pipeline Pilot Protocols from Workbook.
Fixed Defects
NBK-33185 - Dropdown fields in spreadsheets can no longer be edited if the spreadsheet is locked.
NBK-31504 - Generation of the PDF of an Experiment that contains a specific image no longer causes Workbook to hang.
NBK-29672 - When Hub is remote, VMPS no longer fails to lock Task Plans according to the WorkflowStagesForLocking setting.
NBK-30134 - Minor differences in Molecular weights are displayed in the Synthetic Chemistry section when using Markush structures.
NBK-30502 - Run Review Error/Warning messages now accurately reflect the configuration set in the Task Plan Application Permissions.
NBK-32277 - The Material name column can no longer be hidden in the Synthetic Chemistry table.
NBK-32377 - Sig Field for Measurement properties is not always shown in the Windows 10 Japanese OS.
NBK-32664 - Japanese text entries no longer must end with a carriage return in order for the text entry edits to be recorded in the experiment's audit history.
NBK-32794 - Workbook can now be installed with any Oracle 19c version greater than or equal to 19.7.
NBK-32906 - A Preparation can no longer be deleted even if it is being used as a component in a different Preparation.
NBK-33058 - Experiments now save as expected even when the DisableSavePromptOnClosing setting is used.
NBK-33235 - User names are now displayed in the Workbook grids when Novell is used instead of Active Directory.
NBK-29599 - Errors are sometimes encountered when an OLE object is clicked in Microsoft Word when using BIOVIA Draw that is bundled with BIOVIA Workbook.
NBK-29689 - Error messages are sometimes displayed when transferring a chemical structure from Draw into Workbook.
NBK-31497 - PDF files generated by scanning documents on HP multi-function devices now render a preview when added to a Notebook file section.
NBK-31499 - PDF files are now generated as expected, even with newer printers.
NBK-31863 - Indexing errors on some experiments containing certain structures no longer result in message processing handler stalls.
NBK-32161 - User Access History now exports as expected.
NBK-32082 - ApplicationClosing event no longer is repeated if closing an Experiment using the right-hand side X.
NBK-32254 - Workbook now uses the latest version of Tomcat.
NBK-32516 - Experiments containing populated spreadsheet 2 sections can now be cloned as expected.
NBK-32608 - The Combined Audit History now shows all Audit Events.
NBK-32726 - Workbook templates with embedded Task Plan sections no longer create Task Plans in Foundation.
NBK-32769 - Materials can no longer be deleted if they are used in any Preparation.
NBK-32916 - Importing a locked preparation no longer causes errors on Review.
NBK-32950 - Experiment Status Report now works as expected when a single user group is selected.
