The 2020 Release brought a new way of configuring interactions between Recipe execution and Materials. By bringing more possibilities, it also requires now a bit of fine-tuning when being done by a Recipe Author.
Let's take a deeper dive on how to setup batch registration in Compose for Capture Hub.
Note: this tutorial describe the standard CISPro/Capture integration and that it may vary depending on your Inventory System (specifically, the properties mentioned thereafter might have different labels).

Prerequisites
To be able to register a batch in CISPro (or other Inventory system) you must:
- Have the Inventory Property Mapping already setup by an Administrator
- Have the targeted material registered in the Inventory system. The material name in the recipe should match the Tradename or one of the Synonyms of the material.
- Have an Amount and Expiration Date parameters associated to the batch you will register in the recipe.
Configuring the batch registration
You will need to start as usual by adding the material as an Output in the recipe's Material tab.
Then, in the Process tab, at the step where the product should be registered, add this material in the step's Material tab and check the Map Amounts to Parameters.
Then, check the Register Material box:
Now, in the Parameters tab, you'll see a Material Amount parameter created. Add an Expiration Date parameter. Make sure a Planned value exists for this parameter.Go to the parameter mapping view and define the Property mapping for the Expiration Date as shown below (note that the Amount parameter should already have one).
Going beyond
You can add additional parameters (such as Lot Number, Manufacturer, etc.) to associate with the batch that you register.
You can also setup calculation to the Expiration Date as it is now a classic parameter.
