BIOVIA Foundation Empower Add-In
Description
We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Foundation 2021 Hot Fix 6, which consists of the Empower Add-In only, and includes the following:
Enhancements
SEC-6645 – Reduced the number of signatures required when importing samples into a new Empower sample set method.
SEC-6679 – The Import Samples dialog header bar color has been updated to match the color used in Hub.
SEC-6558 – It is now possible to import the task plan and task ID fields to Empower by defining corresponding custom fields in Empower.
- To import the task plan ID (typically TPnnnn), define a custom field named BIOVIATaskPlanID.
- To import the task ID (typically Tnnnn), define a custom field named BIOVIATaskID.
SEC-7234 – It is now possible to configure the Empower Add-In to require results to be signed off in Empower before they can be sent to the measurement store. For more information, see Configuring Signoff Settings for Empower Results.
SEC-7261 – The Empower Add-In can now send the stored Signoff Report to the measurement store, if Empower is configured to store the report in the database. Avoiding the need to regenerate the report when sending results can significantly reduce the amount of time needed to send the results.
If present, the signoff report is listed in the report selection field. The analyst can select it, a different report, or no report. If the analyst selects a different report, the system generates it and then sends it with the results.
SEC-7282 – The Send Results feature has been enhanced to send only the latest results from Empower by default. If users want to include superseded results, they can clear a new Exclude Superseded Results check box (which is selected by default) in the Send Results dialog.
SEC-7342 – You can now control the set of result fields to send from Empower to Foundation Hub. By default, all result fields are sent. However, sending a limited set of the fields can improve performance.
The "Data" property in the data packet used to parse Empower data controls which fields to send. Consult your Empower documentation for the list of field names and their category (result, peak, etc.).
To send all fields, leave the property empty. To send a subset of the fields, identify them by using the following JSON format (do not exceed 4000 characters):
{ "resultFields": ["SampleName", "ResultId"], "peakFields": [ "RetentionTime", "Area"]}
Fixed Defects
SEC-6631 – The account password is no longer displayed when installing the Empower Add-In.
SEC-7288 – It is now possible to un-map a previously mapped sample in the Get Samples dialog. Previously, the UI appeared to remove the mapping but the sample was still mapped to the injection.
SEC-7398 – The Empower Add-In now correctly detects both period and comma decimal separators.
SEC-6605 – Importing samples and sending results no longer fails when the Empower user account has only one role defined in Empower.
SEC-6730 – The Empower Add-In installer now sets the .NET version correctly in the results extractor config file.
SEC-6755 – The Empower Add-In installer's Test button no longer fails to test connection information provided for the Hub server. The failure that was introduced when TLS1.2 was adopted has been resolved.
SEC-6778 – Empower custom fields can have field names that duplicate Waters-provided field names (except for case sensitivity). Such duplicates cause problems during result parsing, because the BIOVIA parsing routine performs a case-insensitive match.
– This release solves this problem by prepending "cf." to customer-defined Empower fields that would otherwise duplicate out-of-the-box (OOTB) Empower fields. For example, if a customer defines a field named PCTAREA when there's an OOTB field for %Area named PctArea, the results file uses cf.PCTAREA for the customer-defined field and PctArea for the OOTB field.
– This renaming supports parsing of both fields, but requires the Empower data packet to be updated to identify both data fields. For more information on configuring data packets and data fields, refer to the Foundation Hub Equipment Guide.
SEC-7103 – Empower Add-In results containing double quotes and other common delimiters no longer cause an error during parsing.
SEC-7151 – The Import Samples window is now shown on the Windows taskbar. This makes it easier to get back to the window after navigating away from it.
SEC-7304 – Reduced the Import Samples dialog load time.
