BIOVIA Compose and Capture
Description
We are providing this Technical Note to inform you about the release of BIOVIA Compose and Capture 2020 SP1, which includes the following:
New Features
CAPT-1722: With 'Control Recipe Approval' signature policy, only a user who has not collected data for a Capture Hub recipe execution can release the completed execution.
CAPT-2391: Review now supports all versions of Capture.
CAPT-2494: Capture Hub now supports registering batches of material into inventory. Users can register multiple containers for the same batch of material.
CAPT-2580: For numeric and quantity parameters, Capture Hub localizes the decimal separator in planned, formatted, and raw values. For date/time parameters, the month is localized for planned and actual values. Also, materials and metrology messages are displayed in the local time zone. For phrasing instructions, the input locale is preserved.
CAPT-2674: The Equipment card now expands to show all equipment planned for the recipe and used during the course of the execution. A Capture Hub user can add equipment from the expanded view, as well as from the step on which it is used.
CAPT-2725: If a Metrology Exception signature policy is applied to a Capture Hub recipe, a warning message is displayed when a device has a metrology alert or is not flagged as GMP. An authorized signature is required before using the device.
CAPT-2989: In Capture Hub, an error icon is now displayed in the cell when:
- A calculation results in no value or a value that is not a number (NaN).
- A material or sample property value does not match the parameter type (for example, text vs. quantity).
- A material or sample property unit does not match the parameter units (for example, g vs mL).
The execution can still proceed to the next step.
CAPT-3047: If a Procedure Modification signature policy is applied to a Capture Hub recipe, a signature is required to abandon a step without samples. This signature policy enables you to define different authorized signers for procedure modifications than for data modifications.
CAPT-3385: Capture Hub users can now add equipment that is not mapped to any reading, parameter, or step in the recipe.
CAPT-3449: Equipment selections persist throughout a Capture Hub recipe execution. Selected devices are automatically used to collect data for parameters mapped to the same equipment type or class.
CAPT-3487: To speed up data entry for Capture Hub users, a Compose author can configure parameters to pre-populate the actual values with planned values.
CAPT-3451: Capture users can delete data from a cell and leave it empty to address cases where data was erroneously entered. Signatures apply as with any other data modification. The audit trail still tracks that the cell once had data, the value of the data, the user who entered the data, and the user who deleted the data.
CAPT-3504: A Capture Hub user can enter a signature any time it is required, rather than waiting until step completion.
CAPT-3702: Reports for Capture Hub now include all features of reports for Classic Capture. Additionally, features that are only available in Capture Hub are accommodated in reports.
CAPT-3744: The default approval report and the Review page now include all signature events for material containers in Capture Hub recipe executions, including the use of a substitute or expired material, data entry, data verification, and data modification.
CAPT-3787: Calculations now accommodate expressions written to select parameters by sample or by sample replicate row.
CAPT-4023: Capture Hub now sanitizes HTML in user-entered data to prevent malicious scripts from being run.
CAPT-4082: Procedure completion, abandonment, release, and reopening are all governed by signature policies set in the activity's lifecycle policy under PEX Life Cycle.
CAPT-4548: For calculated values in Capture Hub, the expressions can now include functions that convert between numeric values and strings.
CAPT-4648: Batch registration first checks for the Compose Material Name against a trade name in CISPro. If no material is found, the Compose Synonym name is used to check against the trade name
PROP-8537: Selection of whether to execute in Capture Hub is now made at recipe creation. This allows proper segregation of more advanced features to the newer platform.
PROP-8538: Parameter selection in expressions now includes "select" functionality with filtering using "where" statements, and "groupby" capability to access multi-line sample data. Previously available functionality remains unchanged.
PROP-8645: Parameters of type Boolean and Vocabulary can now be mapped to instrument readings.
PROP-8655: A much larger selection of properties from materials and containers in inventory are now made available for mapping to parameters in Compose, and can be used to read values into an execution or to include with registration of a new batch.
PROP-8902: A separate signature policy now governs the ability to abandon a step.
PROP-8991: Authoring features that are not supported in classic Capture are now only available when editing recipes flagged for execution in Capture Hub.
PROP-9005: A column labeled "NC" is added to the Recent Compose Sessions homepage to distinguish whether a recipe is flagged for execution in Capture Hub.
PROP-9067: The Print function in the Expression Editor has been deprecated in Capture Hub.
PROP-9071: The Expression Editor now displays Parameters or Materials by recipe step if there are more than 24 items to display. The user is also presented with the ability to filter items by a case insensitive text search and/or selecting a parameter type.
PROP-9108: File parameters no longer require an attached file. File attachments are now optional.
PROP-9158: Authors can now create a recipe that will allow Capture Hub users to scan an inventory container barcode on multiple steps in a recipe.
PROP-9177: Users of the Workbook recipe section can now select the Workflow type for a Compose recipe during creation.
PROP-9345: Recipe authors are now able to mark the same material for registration on multiple separate steps in the execution (for Capture Hub only).
PROP-9377: Recipes created with scaled materials are automatically converted for use in Capture Hub by having recipe material amounts copied into scaling expressions.
PROP-9424: Improvements have been made to the interface for managing reporting protocols.
PROP-9531: The author is provided the ability to place a signature policy control governing the use of equipment that may have any warnings against its suitability for use.
PROP-9534: The author is provided with the option to place a signature policy control against using a different material in the execution than that specified in the recipe.
PROP-9611: Pre-configured signature policies that have been specifically designed for other purposes are not available to the author when selecting a given policy.
PROP-9708: e GXP flag is not explicitly employed by Capture Hub 2020 SP1, as GMP execution is ensured by signature policy settings. As such, the GXP flag is not displayed for recipes that are set for execution in Capture Hub.
Fixed Defects
CAPT-993: Capture Hub user is presented with calculated values and signatures in the proper order when calculations trigger out-of-limits values.
CAPT-1005: In the uncommon case of instrument data that has been re-collected by manual override, and in which the data modification signature is accidentally mistyped and then re-corrected, Review and Reports now correctly reflect that the data was both re-collected and entered manually.
CAPT-1922: Error messages for signature dialogs in Capture Hub have been improved to make them easier to understand.
CAPT-3816: Planned values with threshold limits, when shown in column/row headers, correctly display both percentage and quantity amounts.
CAPT-3866: When a metrology event fails, it now creates the proper warnings and activates the proper signature policy in Capture Hub.
CAPT-3895: The name and description given to a Sample in the Compose recipe are now included in the instructions phrasing in the Capture session.
CAPT-4014: A link to a file, if included in the instructions, is now properly displayed as soon as the step loads.
CAPT-4090: Step icons are more consistently displayed for cases of recollect when activation conditions are involved.
CAPT-4110: \\\$ and # values are now properly supported in the Text field during execution.
CAPT-4117: Samples on a step are only now flagged as out-of-date when changes on previous steps actually do trigger a need for user attention.
CAPT-4453: Data Preview mapping of replicate data from Data Acquisition no longer results in extraneous error.
CAPT-4697: The browser now navigates to the HTML output of Capture Reports immediately upon completion.
PROP-8153: Long Text parameters now display both planned and actual values in the Compose recipe report.
PROP-8549: When importing a recipe, validation will occur that will check the source recipe's vocabulary entries with the entries in the respective Hub Vocabulary Parameter Template in the target environment. Recipe import will be allowed when any resulting conflicts have been resolved.
PROP-8961: The sample name as referenced in a Compose Recipe and the sample name as referenced in Task Plan during recipe execution are now displayed in the 2020 PDF report in any Samples section.
PROP-9293: Tolerance values are now validated in the Process Element Template Editor in Compose's Manage-Process Library view.
PROP-9409: In the Expression Editor, invalid ternary operators are now validated upon saving the expression.
PROP-9496: Performance enhancement by eliminating unnecessary background calls.
PROP-9523: Additional support has been added for double-byte characters in user names and passwords.
PROP-9545: Calculated values are now updated when the input planned value is changed and the Expression Editor is closed.
PROP-9558: The Sample description can now be properly edited.
PROP-9552: In the event that expired container barcodes are scanned multiple times when the expired materials signature is enabled, the 2020 Capture recipe report will display every signature event in the report.
PROP-9781: All Sample Ids in Classic Capture are now displayed in the Report.
