Release 2020 HF1 provides access both to the familiar “Current Capture” as well as the new “Capture 2021 Preview”. Notable enhancements include
CAPT-1136: A toggle button is available which will allow the user to see Reported (Formatted), Recorded (Unformatted), or Planned values in a column for a given Parameter. CAPT-1353: Grid shows '*' in column header for values required. Columns whose data comes from Equipment or a Calculation should have an icon in the header showing the column data type. CAPT-2379: Capture provides intuitive way to navigate the steps of the recipe during execution. CAPT-2380: Ability to have summary functions. CAPT-2383: Perform calculations that reference parameters on previously completed steps. CAPT-2385: A card is provided to show information about all equipment that is used on a step. Ability to deselect equipment is included on the card. CAPT-2389: Ability to add Annotations to each step during execution. These can be text based observations and/or include the upload of a file. These annotations may be ad hoc, based on the judgement of the person executing the experiment, or required by the method author. The user-facing term in the software for this is "Observation". An observation should be possible on any step where the user is required or has the option to enter a parameter. CAPT-2392: Ability to set default instruments for use in Capture 2020 Beta version. CAPT-2395: User can collect parameters of all types manually into grid cells for a repeat per sample recipe. CAPT-2396: User can view instructions for the current step in a recipe execution as well as the full list of instructions with indications of each steps current state. CAPT-2402: When Data Out Of Limit Signature requirement is set in the master recipe, New Capture applies a signature policy for out of limit values. CAPT-2403: Ability to enter mathematical expressions into recipes to execute mathematical operations, functions, and parameter references CAPT-2404: Ability to acquire data from Direct/Advanced connect instruments in New Capture Beta version. CAPT-2406: Capture integrates with Data Preview and Acquisition for collecting values from File and Adapter Based Equipment. CAPT-2478: Users would benefit from having a warning if selected (or defaulted) to use a piece of equipment and it is beyond a PM (preventative maintenance) date, or past a required calibration date. Based on the information of the warning, can choose whether to unselect the instrument and go seek another piece of suitable equipment. CAPT-2499: Grid supports multiple rows of data for the same sample in Capture and Data Preview. CAPT-2506: Ability to acquire data from a not-connected instrument in Capture 20/20 Beta version. CAPT-2555: Users can see completed and abandoned recipes in Capture in read only mode. CAPT-2608: The signing events for all elements of a grid (Data Entry, Data Modification, Out of Limits, and Data Verification) are now combined logically by type to make signing more efficient. CAPT-2672: Capture user is able to launch a protocol from any step during or after execution. CAPT-2801: Grid allows addition of a row for sample or step. CAPT-2808: Steps with no samples and single samples will load by default in Vertical Grid View. User has the option to switch between Horizontal and Vertical Grid view for any steps, with or without samples. All functionality available in Horizontal grid view is available in Vertical Grid. CAPT-2813: When manually entering a value for a parameter during an execution, the parameter should default to the planned unit & unit type. User should only need to select a unit only to change from the default, or no planned unit was set. CAPT-2816: When a recipe author adds Notes and/or Cautions to a step, these will be displayed above the Grid View. Users can collapse these cards to allow additional display space for the Data Entry Grid. CAPT-2865: Capture user or a reviewer, will be able to see the raw data value from an instrument reading. CAPT-2923: As a Capture user is able to export from the contents from Parameters grid to .csv / Excel file. CAPT-2961: Entering a different unit of the same unit type for a planned parameter in Capture, that it will be converted properly for calculations. CAPT-2983: When executing a procedure task, user should be presented with any step that has information for execution, even if it is not required to collect or enter data. Execution should have to advance through any step that has any notes or cautions or instructions. Steps should not be automatically skipped to the part where no data entry required. CAPT-2990: User can pick a date & time so that it will be set in a format that is appropriate for proper data preservation. CAPT-3004: User can see the lifecycle status of the method while executing the Procedure Task. CAPT-3009: User can collect actual amounts for materials via mapped parameters manually or from an instrument. CAPT-3045: Support for Activation Conditions and Branching. CAPT-3067: User can see the materials required on the active step and also materials required for entire execution. CAPT-3283: During execution, the user can see the name of the Task ID(s) that are in the Capture session. CAPT-3302: User can see the current step instructions above the Parameter card when the Parameter window is expanded. Instructions can be minimized to make more room for Parameter card. CAPT-3370: Expanded parameters grid shows observations card when it is required or already has a value. CAPT-3372: Procedure Task when one sample is executed the default view for the step is vertical grid view. For more than one samples the default view is Horizontal grid view, with an option to switch to Vertical Grid View. User can toggle between vertical grid and horizontal grid view at any time. CAPT-3436: User is able to control at a system wide level or on a per recipe level which version of Capture will open the execution. CAPT-3463: Recipe material amounts are not used in this version of Capture; instead, parameters should be mapped to materials for greater flexibility. The user is warned if a recipe material amount is employed, so that they can be alert for any execution issues. CAPT-3648: Planned Material amount will not be shown in Capture instructions if a material is selected for scaling. PROP-8815: These modifications add a vocabulary of sample properties to the Hub accessible via Compose where they can be mapped to process element parameters via recipe samples from a minor set of changes in the UI. PROP-9013: Ensures that the approval status of both the Recipe and the associated Activity are shown in the default recipe report. PROP-9066: Makes available to the user a new workflow, "Activity Driven," which allows the publication of a recipe in the draft state. Once published, the workflow state of the recipe is controlled by transitions in the Lifecycle state of the created activity. PROP-9131: Allows the author to select from available Lifecycle Policies at time of recipe publication. This policy will be applied to the approval process of the Activity. PROP-9225: Checkbox sets flag to determine whether the recipe will execute in Current Capture mode or "New Capture" mode. PROP-9261: Some operations in Compose and Capture require considerable memory so the memory requirement has been increased to 3500 M to accommodate more concurrent users. Fixed Defects CAPT-908: When a signature policy does not require a reason code, the signature window no longer displays the Reason Code field. CAPT-1498: Poor Capture performance in medium length recipes with many samples. CAPT-1513: When signature requirements are set up in the master recipe, New Capture requires signatures for calculated planned values. CAPT-2198: When a recipe is opened in Read-Only mode, the Data Acquisition button is no longer enabled. CAPT-2255: When an actual value is the result of a calculation based on planned values, if the actual value exceeds its planned value, Capture marks it as out-of-limit and enforces the configured OOL signature policy. CAPT-2330: Fixed an issue where a warning message was sometimes shown after collecting a Data Verification signature on a step that was already done. CAPT-2371: Both Task Plan history and Task history now display an entry for the completion of a Procedure Task. CAPT-2602: When data Out Of Limit signature requirement is set in the Master recipe, Capture 2021 requires a signature for out-of-limit values collected via data acquisition. CAPT-2705: After you click an equipment collection button, Capture displays the "Convert to Manual" button without refreshing the page. CAPT-2723: Fixed an issue in which a recipe without any Sample associated would fail to accept the first parameter entered. CAPT-2752: Fixed an issue in which Capture was not uploading a *.lock file without a page refresh. CAPT-2871: After forcing a step to refresh, Capture no longer displays deleted vocabulary entries. CAPT-2884: In Capture 2021, abandoning a step with pending OOL signatures no longer throws an error. CAPT-2982: When there are initially no samples in the grid view and you retrieve data from equipment before entering any data manually, you no longer have to refresh the page to view the collected value in the equipment cell. CAPT-3222: Long-string annotations no longer continue beyond a card's boundaries, the text now correctly wraps to the next line. CAPT-3717: Capture no longer overwrites user's last used view in Task Plan after collecting values from equipment CAPT-3806: Data Preview throws error when sample tag is null and there is no way to submit. CAPT-3859: After entering a quantity and ignoring the unit, Capture no longer repeats the unit. PROP-7318: In Compose's Manage view, the Import/Export tab, to Import/Export an entire Process Library, has been removed. The functionality in this tab has been defunct for a few releases, it was deemed best to remove it. PROP-9130: Saving and loading of recipes is significantly faster. PROP-9161: Performance in the Compose Process View when viewing large Recipes has been improved. PROP-9262: Vocabulary Parameter constraints are now being cached which improves performance when viewing a large Recipe. PROP-9270: Fixed a bug in which inappropriate context menu items were available on Superseded Recipes in the Manage - Recipe Libraries view. PROP-9271: Fixed an issue in which the versioning of a Superseded Recipe was not updated correctly. Now, when updating to a major version increment, the version will update to the next version increment after the existing Approved Recipe rather than remaining the same as it was in the Superseded Recipe.
