Enhanced app: SIMULIA Mechanical Scenario Creation 

Enhancement description

You can now include model change data with restart data. You activate model change in the analysis case editor. Model change cannot be used in analysis cases with an explicit dynamics step. Deactivate model features – Deactivate mass, point inertia, and group features without removing them.

Enhancement description

• Line Fasteners – Define line fastener placement using a new Line-Line placement method. 
• Line Fasteners – Create line fasteners where one or both of the connected meshes is a nonassociative mesh (an orphan mesh or transformed mesh that is not directly created from geometry). For more information, see About Line Fasteners. 
• Line and Surface Fastener Detection – Line and surface fastener locations that connect a part to itself are now detected. For example, you can connect two areas on the same part to form a loop.

• Connections – When defining couplings, connectors, rigid connections, and springs, you can now select from multiple parts for each support. 
• Connection Manager – Connected parts for each connection are now listed in separate columns. The status column indicates if the supports for a connection are not loaded. You can use the context menu to load the supports in this case. For more information, see Connection Manager.

Enhancement description

• Partitioned Hex Mesher – You can now interactively visualize, analyze, and manipulate a partitioned hex mesh. 
• Boundary Layer Control for Hex-Dominant Meshes – You can now control boundary layers locally on support faces.  
• Mesh Edit Improvements – When remeshing an area or optimizing elements, you can now turn off Relax mesh specifications to preserve the original mesh around a hole. If you need to change the size of the mesh for the model or for certain parts of the model, you can improve the accuracy of simulation results when you retain the local mesh around holes. 
• Mesh Usability Improvements - Several enhancements are available to improve the existing features. You can now: 
  • Edit the color of each mesh connection to customize the appearance of mesh connections in your model. 
  • Select and repair only the bad elements when optimizing your finite element model. 
  • Select and analyze multiple elements from the Quality Report. 
  • Select an FEM in the Quality Detailed Report to highlight the corresponding elements in the model.

Enhancement description

You can now capture partial results when you end a remote or cloud simulation before it is complete. When you terminate the simulation, you are given the option to end immediately or end after capturing the results for the analysis frames for each analysis case that is currently being run. For local execution, ending immediately still saves results for the frames that were completed. For remote execution, ending immediately does not save any results.
