Improved productivity with management of Drawings in Engineering Definition

Reminder:

Prior to this enhancement, the attachment of Drawings in the Engineering Definition was only possible in the native client in order to bind the lifecycle of the drawing to the lifecycle of the associated Engineering Item

Now, attachment of existing or a new Drawing is possible in the widget

For engineering items of type “Physical Product”
Drawings can be created based on template of:
- SOLIDWORKS
- CATIA V5
- AutoCAD
- Inventor
Import/Export of engineering definition does not support drawings

Total Quantity View

Improved Quantity view to distinguish between Reference View and Instance View

New views are now available:

Usage view (instance view)
Reference view:

The Reference view will display the total quantity of either :

All the instances of the same discrete “Reference” and/or
All “Declared volume” of the references that have the same continuous ‘Core Material’

Clicking on “quantity” will show all instances/quantities and enable to edit them

Attach documents as Reference

Enhanced attachment of documents as “Reference”

Reference documents can now be linked/unlinked to/from an engineering item regardless of the item maturity state
When the engineering item is duplicated or revised, the reference documents will be reused in the newly created engineering item
Attach/de-attach reference documents is not captured by the Work Under in the change process

Reminder:

Reference document attached to an engineering item does not directly affect its design. Examples: marketing materials, sketches and communication documents

IP Classify & Reuse

The “Unit” is now supported and displayed for dimension attributes

User can submit query in the most convenient unit. Following query are equivalent
- Trolley Length>"95 mm"
- Trolley Length>"0.95 dm"
- Trolley Length>"3.74 in"

Only essential information is displayed to the user:

By default, non-classification attributes are not displayed in the widget which simplifies the view and facilitates the experience for the user
You can still expose these attributes as needed using the grid customization tool

Improved control based upon the use of standardized policies

Subsidiaries are enabled for both creation and management on the Cloud environment for the Desktop and Touch devices.

Business Units and Departments are enabled on the Cloud and for Touch devices.

The Move Person command is enabled on Touch devices.
