[3DEXPERIENCE Platform] Collaborative Business Innovator + Collaborative Industry Innovator

Collaborative Business Innovator

3DSwym

3DSwym Collaboration - Whiteboard

Concerning media creation, you can now create a Whiteboard to contribute to the collaborative ideation and innovation of your communities.

Content Compact View and Content Sorting
As already announced, since September 23 you can choose to display your community feed with the new Compact View.

Now you also have the capability to sort the content with the following options:

For the Large and Compact View, the sorting options are:

  • Creation date
  • Latest activity

For the Timeline View, the sorting is automatically done on Latest activity.

Suggested Conversations
This is a new section present below the “My Conversations” section in the left “Conversations” tab. The items shown in the Suggested Conversations section will be users whom you do not have a conversation with. There are 15 suggested conversations (less than 15 if there are not enough users in the platform). Clicking on any item is creating a conversation with that user and the center panel is opening up that conversation. This section is only visible when you already have less than 15 conversations.

3DSwym Community Settings - Allow Post Creation for Contributors
Before R2022x Golden, only Owners and Authors of a community could create posts. You can now also allow Contributors to create posts with the new option that can be selected in the Community Settings.

As posts are required content, you can't disable them. By default, the checkbox “Allow contributors to create” is unchecked. Only community owners can modify this option.

Media Interactions
When opening a media, you can now access the Edit, Comment,

Share, Properties and the More context menu commands of the selected media directly from the top bar.

If you have edited the media, you can also publish your modifications

from the top bar.

These commands were formerly accessed from a lightweight player toolbar.

3DDashboard

A dashboard is now ‘Platform Aware’

In R2021x, 3DDashboard was ‘Platform Agnostic’ (one single url, possibility to share a dashboard with all users from Platforms I’m member of,…).
This led to some complexity and was misleading in some cases for the user

Now, in R2022x, every dashboard is created and managed in one platform

=> same behavior than Standalone Web apps.

But the key value remains : widgets from several Platforms can still be instantiated on one dashboard

• Dashboard will now be associated to 1 platform
• List of dashboards will be displayed in context of the current platform
• All others services (except 3DCompass) will also behave in context of the current platform
• ‘Search user’ (when sharing or inviting)
• Apps in TopBar
• ‘Search content’
• Ability to switch to another platform directly from the Topbar

GDPR cookie management and tracking
You can now manage your own personal data by choosing the cookies that the application is authorized to use. When you access to any application on 3ds.com domain name (every apps that uses frame of Dashboard), a modal will ask for cookies that you can allow to be used. The cookie is sharing with all 3ds.com subdomain. Thus, all standalone apps is having the same preferences.

In the platform's applications, only three types of cookies are used:

  • Necessary Cookies
  • Functional Cookies
  • Targeted and Advertising Cookies

You have the possibility to Accept All, Continue with only necessary cookies or to manage them independently. The necessary cookie was essential for the proper working of the application, it will be checked regardless of the your choice.

Full screen instead of maximize as default behavior for widget
The maximize function in widget header has now been replaced by the full screen function. Maximize function is now in the widget menu. When a widget is maximized you can restore its original size by using the corresponding function in the widget menu.

It is still possible to maximize/restore the widget by double clicking on the widget header.

3DPlay

Improved ability to share social feedback on PDF Experience

You can now share an annotated PDF stored in 3DDrive or in 3DSpace as a comment to 3DSwym communities or conversations, using Share as Comment on the Cloud. Previously, Share as Comment was only available for PDF documents hosted on and viewed through 3DSwym.

Extended zoom

The maximum zoom level for 2D documents (such as Drawings, images, or PDF documents) is increased: the user experience when viewing 2D documents with high levels of details is improved.

New ability to explore engineering objects in relation

You can now display the relations between 3DSpace content opened in the 3DPlay widget, in the side panel available from the action bar. With a simple drag & drop from the relation tab of the side panel into 3DPlay main window, you can easily visualize and navigate through the objects in relations, directly from within 3DPlay.

Annotation Experience enhancements

Better rendering of annotations, which are now smoothed for an experience always closer to the real writing.

The Highlighter tool has also been improved to get an experience near of a regular pen.

The Shape recognition Feature is now smarter and let users decide whether they want shape smoothing or not: once your sketch is drawn, simply hold for a second to replace the sketch by a perfect shape, or simply release your finger/mouse before to keep your sketch untouched.

3DPlay universal player

CATIA Composer Experiences saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is now supported in 3DPlay Web.
The connector Technical Illustrator for Composer (I4C role, cloud and on premise) is required to save this data from CATIA|Composer

SOLIDWORKS mouse profile

Three preferences are now available to let you select a mouse profile for manipulating viewpoints in your dashboard app: CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, and 3DEXPERIENCE: you can gain easier access to viewpoints in your dashboard app by specifying the mouse profile option that best fits your needs, and SOLIDWORKS users can now use the mouse the way they are used to.

3DStory

With R2022x Golden, 3DStory brings you the following great new features:

  • Create even more stunning Stories with the new Animations Library

  • Hundreds of millions of videos at your fingertips with the new YouTube integration
  • Enjoy unlimited playback freedom with the new Free aspect ratio

  • Get more productive, reuse your session layouts from Layout Library

Feed Reader

App Re-Engineering

Feed Reader no longer supports:

  • Password-protected RSS feeds.
    • Tip: You can retrieve password-protected feeds into Corpus Manager
  • Autodetection of RSS feeds from a website URL.
  • Article retention.
  • Interactions with Potion, Social Analytics, and Tracked Topic.
  • Opinions.

To avoid any loss, all the feeds found across the Feed Reader widgets that you pinned before R2022x GA have been added to your Corpus Manager.

Collaborative Industry Innovator

3DSpace

3DPlay Annotation management in 3DComment
3DSpace app is now able to keep the 3D annotations created on pdf documents in 3DPlay embedded viewer in the Comments associated to the visualized object. This is allowing interaction with different users having access to data and annotation.

Bookmark Editor

Create Revisions
When you revise an object attached to a bookmark, original revision of the object is retained. New version of the object does not replace the original revision of the object.

Benefits: The original revision of the object is still attached to the bookmark until it is manually modified.

Collaboration & Approvals

Electronic Signature Authentication
A Business Administrator can configure to mandate the use of electronic signature for approval tasks. The Business Administrator can define it as required for all approval tasks, not required for any approval task, or to use the e-signature option declared in the route template. A route template creator can opt to make e-signature authentication mandatory for all routes created using the route template.

Revising Content added to Bookmarks
When you revise any content added to a bookmark, the older revision remains added to the bookmark and is not replaced by the newer revision.

Personal Workspace
Personal Workspace is deprecated. During migration, existing personal workspaces with content or sub-bookmarks are converted to workspaces.

Collaborative Lifecycle

Sharing Objects
A new Sharing tab is available in the Properties widget and Information panel. In this tab, you can:

  • View who the object is shared with
  • Modify the permissions
  • Remove permissions
  • Share the object with additional users, user groups, or collaborative space/organization pairs.

The user interface of the Share command has also been updated to only let you share objects with additional users, user groups, or collaborative space/organization pairs.

Benefits: The user interface of the Share command is simplified, and all the information and actions you need to manage the existing permissions are available directly from the Properties widget or Information panel.

Creating Revisions in the Primary and Secondary Revision Format
Administrators can now activate the Primary and Secondary revision format for all Engineering Definition, Engineering Evaluation, and Engineering Resource object types. This format activates a secondary ID, that is incremented every time you create a revision of a non-Released object. The primary ID is incremented every time you create a revision of a Released object.

Benefits: The Primary and Secondary revision format enables you to differentiate major changes (identified by the primary ID) from design iterations (identified by the secondary ID).

Duplicating Drawings with Advanced Options
The advanced options of the Duplicate command are now available for 3DEXPERIENCE drawings with CAD master other than CATIA V5 (that is, AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Edge, and SOLIDWORKS).

Benefits: The advanced options of the Duplicate command give you more control over the resulting duplicate. When you duplicate a drawing, you can select the related objects you want to duplicate at the same time (for example, its related part), which automatically moves the connection between them to their duplicates.

Reserve and Unreserve Commands Renamed
The Reserve and Unreserve commands have been renamed Lock and Unlock. The different elements have also been updated to reflect this change (for example, properties or column headers).

Benefits: The name and purpose of the commands are clearer.

Change Maturity Command Renamed
The Change Maturity command has been renamed Maturity in the action bar and context menu. This name is also used in properties, and column headers of the Revision Explorer.

Benefits: The same name is now used for the command and the properties.

Collaborative Tasks

Electronic Signature for Route Task Approvals On-premises and on the Cloud
You can configure to mandate the use of an electronic signature for approval tasks.

Document Management

Configuring Maturity States
You can now use the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center to configure the maturity states and transitions for the Document Release policy.

Note: If the document is under change control, you must use the Change Action to change the maturity state of the document.

Benefits: You can customize the maturity state names and transitions to conform to your business processes.

Copying and Pasting Attachments
You can now copy an attachment of a document, and paste it as an attachment or specification in another document.

Updated Icons
In the Attachments tab for a document, you can now more easily identify the Remove and Replace by Revision commands. The icons have been updated to match icons used in other 3DEXPERIENCE apps.

Issue Management

Enhanced Data Grid
Issue Management now uses the enhanced data grid to list issues.

  • With the data grid, the user can now pin all the columns to either the left or right side of the widget and resize the columns, by selecting the appropriate option from the contextual menu on the column header.
  • Issue icons are no longer colored according to the Maturity State of the Issue, and are displayed as the default .
  • Issues with Reported Against, Resolved By objects are still expandable, however the number of expanded items per type is no longer supported.
  • The Customize View is accessed by using the  on the toolbar. This dialog has been renamed from "Tree List View Options" to "Column Customization," and the color options have been removed, as they are not supported by the data grid component.
  • The Column Customization dialog allows the user to add columns not already displayed on the data grid, including and especially attributes added through:
  • Classification
  • Subtypes
  • Customer Extensions
  • Deployment Extensions
  • Attribute Management

Note: The "Find" icon has been removed from the toolbar as it is not supported by the data grid. The user can find Issues using the "Local Search" functionality to identify existing Issues inside the widget.

Giving Others Access to Issues
You can list issues in other apps such as Collaborative Lifecycle or Bookmark Editor. However, you cannot Share an issue from those apps. If you want to allow someone to have access to an issue, add them as a member.

Route Management

Electronic Signature Authentication
A Business Administrator can configure to mandate the use of electronic signature for approval tasks. The Business Administrator can define it as required for all approval tasks, not required for any approval task, or to use the e-signature option declared in the route template. A route template creator can opt to make e-signature authentication mandatory for all routes created using the route template.
