    💥Lattice Designer- Exciting New Role!

A Lattice is a simple shape pattern replicated in different directions. A designer can fill certain regions of the design with a Lattice to improve the performance of the design.
A conventionally manufactured design may have simple big holes in some regions of the part. 100% of material in these holes may be removed; But if a Lattice is created, designer can define a certain percentage of material removal, and the material that is kept on the part is the lattice that helps in maintaining strength. Manufacturing this is made possible because of additive manufacturing technology.

Lattice Designer Role is available with Engineering Exper role (U2D)

Lattice Design app will enable the adoption of lattice structure in high performance parts, providing conceptual and detailed 3D Lattice modeling capacities seamlessly integrated with structural validation, and outputting 3D Printers and readable formats.

The Lattice Design Assistant in the app guides you through the process of the lattice design. It helps you navigate through all different steps from defining the body to lattice, the cavities, launching lattice conceptual design, and validating the design.

Body centered cubic, cube and honeycomb types

Lattice Design Assistant can be seen, and various types of lattice structures are visible in the background

The creation of the finite element model is also fully automated and realized in one step: the plain region of the design is meshed with 3D tetrahedron elements, the lattice areas are meshed with 1D beam elements and assigned with the corresponding beam section and profiles, and the free nodes of the lattice meshes are tied to the face of the 3D elements.
