Hello,

I have been perusing the Solidworks materials properties and have noticed some strange values for stainless steels. 1.4301 (304) shows a yield strength of 400N/mm2 and a tensile strength of 600N/mm2, 1.4401 (316) also shows these values. Whichever website I refer to shows the yield strengths for 304/316 to be around 215N/mm2.

Can anyone explain why Solidworks shows different figures?
