Seems that for years everyone I know has been doing the same thing. MS project or something similar or filling in cells in an Excel spreadsheet. We have simulation software that essentially does a timing chart, but everything I've seen requires a model of some sort.
What is out there that can be used for timing charts prior to the existence of a model. In the perfect world this would be the "bones" of your system. It would be developed and used during the quoting phase. Motors, Axis, loads etc would be defined and it would spit out a pretty timing chart that can be used for sale/quotes and transferred to engineering if the projected is awarded to you.
I see a lot of stuff like this out there for electrical timing but I'm leery as to how well that would translate to mechanical purposes. I also seriously doubt any of the electrical packages have a place to drop in loads, motors and drive axis information.
Does SW have anything for this? Any thoughts on other packages? SW has everything you would need to make this happen expect possible the report function and the downfall is that it requires a model.
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you
