I like to build maquette houses as a hobby from Depron foam. I run in to problems when building it like forgetting to calculate the thickness of the Depron in the design.

Now I am using Solidworks i tought it would be a nice way to first model it in 3D and make a Drawing out of it with all the dimensions so I can use that as a reference. 

I'm a 3dsmax user and quite new with solidworks (did the basic tutorials). I don't really know where to start with the project. Are there any tutorials for this kind of things?
