Customer sent me an assy from NX using native format. I can open the individual .prt files and some of those come in as assy's, but the upper level part, which has the same .prt extension as the rest of the parts, "will not open compressed UG files."

Is there a way around this? Either via Solidworks or something I can pass on to the customer to do?

When they send step or parasolids or iges they usually come in as sheets that are usually missing features making the model unusable.
