For the first time I suggested this change in 2005 but it was always a low priority to change. Initials conditions are a sort of boundary conditions at time=0 or Iteration 0. They do not change the final results (assuming a stable numerical procedures of the Solver) but if too far from the solution the latter may not be able to converge. What is more important however, is that a proper initial condition can dramatically reduced the number of iterations for achieving convergence. For that reason we always use custom initial conditions looking to transfer suitable result file form previous models or previous variant of the geometry.
In the current scenario this requires 7 clicks of the muse in various sub-minus of the General Condition Panel. It would be a much easier if the initial conditions were a separate icon in the feature tree, in a similar way as the Global Mesh Icon was added to the Mesh Tree (The former Basic Mesh was taken out of the Input Data List Commands). This will make much faster the assignment of the Initial Data.
Thank you for supporting my very old suggestion.
