I installed SolidWorks 2024 SP4 on a new standalone workstation (only one seat in the company, no licence servers or network setup). It worked fine until I installed DraftSight 2025, which runs without issue. After that, SolidWorks only shows the splash screen briefly and then closes with no further activity.

A standard uninstall/reinstall of both applications does not resolve the issue. A more thorough uninstall using a third-party tool followed by a reinstall of SolidWorks temporarily fixes it, but the same problem returns as soon as DraftSight 2025 is installed again.

We only have a single seat of each product and nothing fancy in terms of licence servers or shared environments. I’ve not had this problem on another new workstation running the same setup.

I vaguely remember hitting this issue once before on a different machine but can’t recall the fix.

Has anyone else seen this and found a solution?
