Solidworks Administration

Hi All,

I have been thinking about this for some time now and would like to get other people's opinions.

Some functionality that I feel is missing from SW relates to the overall administration and setup in particular when multi user environments are concerned. Sure there are ways of writing scripts and custom stuff to assist in administering SW, however it would make sense, at least to me, to treat this like any other server/client application when multiple users are involved.

A SW administration utility would be great to have so as to ensure that critical SW system settings and settings relating to company standards cannot be tampered with once set by the CAD administrator. The CAD administrator could then ensure that correct template paths and settings are always used. I find that junior engineers love to play with settings because of curiosity, etc without really understanding the settings. There should be some way of locking out system level settings.

Maybe with other's opinions and votes, this could be something to put forward as an enhancement request.

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions,

Declan.
