I am running Solidworks 2011 Slow simulation package. I am trying to simulate the effects of light sources on their surroundings. I am having a hard time figuring out if they method I am using is the correct way to properly simulate what is happening.
The light sources consist of a bulb and a reflector. The bulb is ignored and the filament is modeled in its place to better represent what the true radiation source is. The reflector is considered an insulator to ignore the heat absorption and the inner surface is given a radiation surface property of a polished material (usually aluminum). The radiation source property is placed on the filament as a diffusive source with the proper power property (35W lamp is given 35W for power..) Anything that I expect t have direct radiation from the light is given a radiation surface property for the given material.
I set up the general settings with radiation on, radiation absorption in solids on, conduction in solids on.. I am just not sure if this is 100% the best way to do this sort of study.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
