How can i make parts disappear/ see through at a specific distance when zooming in.

I want to quickly be able to see inside the design, like if i was modeling a house and zoomed in i could set anything closer to 3 ft. from POV be cutaway or see through?  I want this to be done in the current assembly and not have to do some fly-through or other silly procedure.  Like how when i zoom down and my sketch lines disappear (which i hate! and if yo know how to fix that i's appreciate that as well )
