I am trying to keep better track of my company's drawings. We do not have PDM, as much as I would like to have it, but trying to convince management at my company to invest several thousands of dollars into a document managment system (which would make life so much easier for everyone) will most likely be a futile experience.
I recently started using the built-in Revision Table included with SolidWorks standard, but in order to conform to my companies revision scheme (which is an integer starting from zero (0)), I cannot use the "Add Revision" as it always defaults to a letter revision scheme (starting with 'A').
At present, my revision property is setup as such...
- Part/Assembly files contain a custom configuration specific property, Revision (Type: Number).
- Drawing files have (within the title block) a note that links back to the part/assembly via \$PRPSHEET:"Revision".
The work around for using a revision table seems to be that I have to use Add Row, instead of Add Revision, to the Revision table or to make a general table to be maintained manually.
How would you change the revision scheme for Revision Tables for a user that does not have PDM?
