I'm trying to create a surface geometry of a wind turbine for use in CFD meshing. My model has no thickness and I'm only interested in the surface geometry. I created the surface by using various curves and then creating a boundary surface out of them. I had to create a fillet in one place to make the surface smooth. Now coming to the real question.

  I want the final surface alone to be exported. What I mean is that I'm not interested in the details of the fillet or the the original surfaces that existed before the fillet. I would prefer it to be exported as either STEP or iges/igs. When I export in these formats, it gives me all the details of the fillets and does not do a good job of it. I've found that the .stl format export does exactly what I want. But I would like to export in one of the other formats that I described.
