Recently upgraded from an old Thinkpad and am noticing some subtle lag with the new setup.

M4700 3Ghz / 16 gb ram / Nvidia 2000 / 500g SSD &...... Win8.

I've already turned off optimus.  My lowest ratings in windows performance index is 6.9 for

Graphics: Desktop graphic performance, and

Gaming Graphics: 3D business and gaming graphics performance.

The "3D Business" part is what's bothering me (Solidworks?).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

PS I'm running the "newer" Nvidia driver than listed on the SW page.  But then again the SW page

doesn't list drivers for Win8.
