I am wondering if anyone has any experience using PID control to regulate the amount of watts coming off of a heater. My goal is to regulate a bath of water at a set temperature and model the effect of adding additional mass to that bath of water. The additional mass will be colder than the set temperature of the bath and will cause a drop in temperature of the bath. I would like to simulate the action of the heater supplying energy into the bath, bringing it back to the set temperature. This will be a transient study as I am trying to determine the heating rate of the bath back to the set temperature based upon the material properties/ size characteristics of the additional mass.
