Hi all,
I have a question, that I have searched for, but never really seen an answer that suited my question. My company has decided to change the way that we number our parts and tooling, so I need to update a couple of hundred part numbers. In Solidworks 2009, I remember there being a function that if the name of the part was changed, when you opened up the drawing, it would tell you that it couldn't find the part, and ask you if you wanted to find it yourself. At that point you could select the correct part and it would populate the drawing. Since I have switched to 2010, it hasn't given me that option. If I change the part name, either through Windows explorer, or saving it through Solidworks, the drawing will lose it's views, and just give me the dreaded boxes. Is there a way of turning this function back on, or at the very least, could someone explain to me a way of changing the referencing on a drawing, so when I do change the name of a part it will update the drawing also?
Thanks in advance.
